People say that the steroid era has been the mid 90's till the present. I beg to differ. I would say that?

players were taking steroids as far back as the early to mid 70's. Remember the football player Lyle Alzado? He took them in the 70's and 80's. Bodybuilders like Arnold Swarteneeger were taking them in the late 60's, 70's and 80's. Jose Canseco who calls himself the godfather of steroids says he began taking them in 1985, but it's hard for me to believe that he was the first MLB player to take them. I'm sure many others before him had juiced, perhaps guys like Dave Winfield, Reggie Jackson, Dave Parker, Dave Kingman, etc. I would say that the steroid era has been from 1985-Present. What do you think?
