What kind of protagonist would fit this plot?

I'm kind of sick of main characters who are related to the main villain type, it gets old. Anyway, she should become a secret insider for their operations; pretending to be a cold and ruthless soldier in this regime, but actually being a brave and kindhearted good-humored down to earth sort of girl in front of her peers. If the leader of the regime is her father...neither one of them find out till way later in the story.
