In the hype of gay marriage ban in the US, does my friend say something correct?

My guess would be that very, very few GLBTs voted for this anti-american proposition. We may vote against our own interests, but we're not THAT stupid. And it's not as though a no-vote REQUIRED you to go out and gay-marry...though some straights sure acted like it did. I for one am not gonna tie the knot with my partner for another twentyfive ish years to give us some time together and I voted no. This is about our rights and I think we all took, and take, it very seriously
