How do I configure LaTeX on linux to suport Portuguese Hyphenation?

I'm having trouble with Brazilian-portuguese hyphenation with latex on linux. I'm using Kile to write the .tex doents, which are not compiling, because kile can't find the packages to handle portuguese hyphenation =(. Does anyone know how to install these packages on linux?
